For many years I had testicular pain, on the left side. When in my early 20's I had a hernia surgery (left side). I always thought and suggested that I had a recurring infection. I was always told that was not the issue. I was repeatedly checked for hernias, prostate issues. etc.. The pain was bad, At times it would wake me up in the middle of the night. At least three different times I had a swollen inflamed testicle. The last time it happened the testicle along that side of my scrotum going up the base of my penis was an intense red- obviously infected. Every time it happened it cleared up within a day and a doctor never saw the full blown issues. One doctor finally listened to me and had me undergo a testicular ultrasound, which did not indicate a reason for the continual pain. He thought outside the box and did what I thought should have been done years ago- he treated me for an infection and put me on antibiotic for 30 days. That cleared up the issue.
If you indeed do have Epididymitis from what I read in the past it is not easy to treat due to the difficulty for an antibiotic to reach that area. Just make sure that indeed is the issue. I wish you well and hope you can get some relief- I know pain down there is no fun.
