Good Work-Out Music?

Good Work-Out Music?

Hey everyone,

...Anyone have any recommendations for good work-out music?

After decades, I've finally started doing some basic weight-lifting again.

It helps to lift with some music that energizes.

The best music I have found so far is just about any album by Swedish hard rock band called Eclipse - not known in America but really ripping stuff.

Like a combination of Ozzy, Whitesnake, and Journey with a very modern production and great songs and melodies. They have 7 albums out already.

Iron Maiden is good too. haven't tried much else yet, just getting started.

Would like to hear what other people like to play when working out....can be any genre.

A simple list of band names and / or albums or songs is good - no need to post You Tube videos because I want to play the music from my Kindle through a Bluetooth speaker.

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks Chris for your post.
And thanks for introducing me to
Eclipse ! I like them.

(here's a sound of Eclipse for anyone who wants to take a listen)

...I used to listen to Linkin Park

( love you Chester Bennington)

I am big fan of Three Days Grace ( take some pride that they
are Canadian)
This is my favorite song from them

I have to say , I took my weight-lifting and exercising
to extremes.
I suggest those who get a high from listening to music
such as I did to not over do it.
I cant do any exercising now , and haven't in years.
I have a body image problem , I lost all my muscle tone.
I am learning now to take care of my body and
I wish others to do as well.
Take care and thanks again for your post.

Hey James,

Thanks so much for answering this post...after posting last night I searched online and on my Amazon Music account and downloaded a bunch of other songs, to be organized later. Bands like Teramaze, Deliverance, Stryper, Breaking Benjamin, Killswitch Engage, Demon Hunter, Linkin Park, Judas Priest, Disturbed, Metallica, Anthrax, Dio, and a few others.

I really like that Three Days Grace song a lot and am going to check out the rest of their stuff! Thanks!!

I am totally with you about being careful with this music. It definitely can fuel aggressive tendencies - which I want a little of, but not to the extreme.
You do have to be very careful with this kind of music. I used to be very triggered by it in different ways and couldn't handle it for a number of years, even though I have always liked it. Now, I am more at peace inside and it does not affect me quite the way it used to. But I still can't overdo it and will monitor by reactions and be careful.

I also balance it out these days with more relaxing music, which helps.

I too have little muscle tone and body image issues right now which is why I am trying to gain some muscle weight again.
I tried this once before and injured myself, so I am trying to go more slowly this time.

I will check out that post from Cirillo as well. Thanks again James and have a great day,

Chris

YOu have a great day too Chris.

Your post was helpful ; I had images of me doing
public speaking to those just starting to body build and
other forms of exercising.
But I don't think people want to waste time.
I just don't want someone to think they are a superhero
when it comes to exercise.
I support people who want to become Olympians , but I just
hope people get professional advice - and stick to it!
Rather than see a guy like me....years of no exercise.
Having to turn down employment.
NOt to mention zero exercise.(sorry , it must me bothering
me a lot more.)
Thanks for your post!

I saw They Might Be Giants on campus of my Univ. winter of my Senior Year. They were touring for "Flood". Loved that album.

"Birdhouse in your Soul"

Hey Will, thanks so much for reminding me about Queensryche!
I pulled a bunch of their songs and from other bands that sound similar, and put them into my playlists.

I also have some Linkin Park. But while I like some of the other 90's bands you mentioned, I need something heavier for weight-lifting music.
Some good listening choices there though.

Weight lifting? I missed that crucial line when I answered. In that case:
