For All the Little Ones

I have no fatherland
or motherland
only barbed wire
around destruction

where we play

a wretched child-army
dressed in frazzle
and grime in our curls
words become song
grey gains color

it's
the way we speak
and gesture
how we move

here are my poems
watch them, they're intricate dances
steps transformed to stanzas

I sing our song to be free
find our cantata in a poem

an elegy from my fingertips
for you
and you

here are my poems
watch them, they're intricate dances
steps transformed to stanzas
Thank you Darren White for inviting, through your poetry, us into lock-step dance with you. Your "elegy" is heard and honored.
