Fathers Day

I want to take a moment on this day as a dad raising sons, whose dad did not always engage I know for some of you this day is very hard because you are here because you survived your dads abuse. To those men I want to say how brave you are in seeking healing here and that I am proud of you, that you are a wonderful son who deserves hugs and support not molestation. That you are enough and that you did nothing to deserve what your dad did. Today on this day big hug and safe one from a dad who is a survivor. To the son like me who went unseen by his dad, who searched but missed a healthy love from a father, who found an older man that then betrayed him, I want to say I know that I lived it I see you! I know the love you were looking for and while we thought for a moment we found it that does not mean it was our fault.
I know this can be a tough day not all men are monsters there are some great men here and many may not be dads but they have shared their experiences with me their hearts in some cases tears and to those men thanks for being here showing me seeing me how dads are supposed to be.
I’m glad to have men like you in my life even if it’s just to talk here thanks for letting me be here and talk with you guys.

As a son who early on missed what I needed, I pray my sons may never wonder if they are loved and cherished. Happy Father's Day to Those who celebrate, and Best Wishes to those survivor's who are, instead, a shining light example of what courage, fortitude and a strong will to over come can produce.
