"It was six," she said. That's what she said. "Six who died."

"He said it was like the Southern accent was rising," she's saying to an assistant clinician of some kind, farther away. Her husband or someone had deployed with one of the original thirteen states, older than the Continental Army, their way. 'Guess it was hockey accents up north, rising.

"'Have to get this twenty-seven-year Peloponnesian War boiled down to a play--" is 'what told the cops, incidentally overheard, nearby. "Like the Banshees of IRISH-herin," 'said to him, this other guy, also nearby, 'never know what's going on with crazy, 'just gotta hang awhile, 'guess. "Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson."

At the bus station, there's cops everywhere, they say. "The bus driver's aren't allowed to defend themselves."

"--So there's two brokers," another guy's saying, somewhere nearby, maybe to no one. "The buyer's and the seller's. They split the brokerage fee half--"

"--The Irish Civil War was One year," 'am saying to him. "A two hour play--"

Soon's the novel's safe. The local newspaper of the world, God could give me whiplash with how important, 'suddenly am. That's rich. The CIA can come across as not-smart snarky. Quite the feat. The FBI can come across as dumb jocks. Say Again. "Like down to the plot of – preferably – an episode of a sitcom."

"Have at it," he says. "But you just got on the grid."

'Recently DMV'd to a renewed license, "right-to-drive," they say, no bills, so it's really an ID. 'Phone's been auto paid each month, but the phone died, and 'have been innocently off the grid since just before Thanksgiving. 'Paid fifty and got a marvel of technology on my hands now. Then 'got the taxes done, in time. 'Had recently gotten homework, local, and watched a movie called Gung Ho, Ron Howard, Micheal Keaton, that apparently wasn't necessarily set in Pennsylvania. Before that, Carl Bernstein had just called me a journalist, referred to me like that, rather, and 'got word of it. Ain't that something's, what's 'had to say about it, officially. Also, once 'overheard UNC Chapel Hill and Duke referring to me as 'the Carolinian.' Also, 'once overheard Hollywood say 'was "wasting time." (No money involved). Zelenskyy remains mired. It's impossible, and maybe arrogant to present the protagonist a priest but before Zaki and Zelenski there were the Railroad Days, and before that there was Catholic Priest Scandal, Boston, Mass.

"You'll'd be surprised."

"A vote for him is dangerous," she says, from the tellie, late night, Robert Francis Kennedy's daughter, of her brother.

Robert Francis Kennedy looked to his brother, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The American promise ... The American Dream ... What were we thinking ... 'Knew not to speak, as he continues placing laundry into dresser. Some kind of hall, upper floor, with rooms. JFK's at the door. We were so young. They're both the older. Everyone else had died. War times. Everyone was young. The politicians, the leaders, the lawyers ... We look, and feel, like teenagers, like it's World War One, instead, early twenties maybe, It looks a lot like that film, The Post, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, in one of those buildings, houses, the look. On November twenty-second, 1963, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was killed. It's gonna be like this. Absolutely brutal. She wouldn't go against her brother's character; she stuck to her talking points, her choices, her decisions, not going against her brother's character, instead, his actions, the system, democracy, must be leaned into, no third party.

"Let's talk about reality."

'Would tell the Bill Cosby story quick, if 'could. 'Same grocery. She shows up. Sets up a table. She's from California. She's here to do a table of alcohol women like to drink. She's scantily dressed. She's cracking jokes all Saturday afternoon. Brit up front, minding the store. She don't know she's surrounded by a future dock worker, me working dairy. She cracks jokes or tries her bit concerning selling the alcohol in a Bill Cosby'esque way, though Lisa Bonet done picked up on it and everybody knew. Open secret. She's in such contrast with the young men entering and exiting the nearby main doorway with pallets and things, working at a certain pace, maybe dockworkers, but no Bill Cosby'esqueing, 'cause she didn't last two hours. After having put away pallets of dairy. No one said a word to her or her customers. No one bothered her. She left out of embarrassment. Brit asked about it. And me and Montana helped her put her stuff in her rental car. Then she went back to the airport and back to California.
