Hormones and recovery
Anyone else experience recovery while checkin in on their hormones ? Just had mine check and working on balancing it all out to be fit and functional.
Is 140 low? Was told 916 was a good number@Curiouspaints not sure I am unsure question. I am in testosterone and have since I was 39. No cancer just not making much like 140’s level at that age.
Yeah that’s way I want to aim for 916 to stay active and work on my body for recovery140 low 916 is really high for 916 is puberty levels so yeah that is good i think. They say typical for a 40 and up guy is the mid 300’s to upper 400’s is what they say. My Dr. feel 400-600 is good range for my age (52). Which is am in the 500’s. For me beside sexual aspects of low T I just had no energy. I think that with depression made my mood and energy way worse.
Yes testosterone what is xyosted?I assume the levels are with you taking Testosterone? I use Xyosted which is a self-injection pen.
FascinatingThat is just a brand but it is testosterone but is able to work subcutaneously. The only difference is that instead of you having to inject yourself inter muscular with the thicker testosterone Cypionate
How long have you been on it if that’s ok to ask?Due to my needing steroid injections every other month I have to have testosterone. Mine is also Cypionate. I inject it every two weeks. I use a very large 18 gauge needle to draw up 1 ml, then switch the needle to a 24 gauge to inject it. It is a thick oil. I inject mine in my legs, alternating each time. Hurts a lot. But I can't use patches. Scottie
That is what i did for almost 10 years, Xyosted did not exist when i started. Was not to painful but was was still a pain. I tried the cream and my body just did not seem to absorb it even at max dose it barely moved the number. The injection i use now is good but with the max they offer I am at that 599 mark but way easier. It is a thick oil. I inject mine in my legs
Super amazing to reads thanks for sharingHey guys, I want to chime in on this conversation. I agree with you on testosterone therapy. I have been on my TRT
for 8yrs. I go to a wellness clinic that my doctor runs. I’m actually on the pellet treatment. BioTE is what it’s called.
When I started 8 years ago my depression was really bad. I wasn’t making much progress with my T. My doctor started me on this program and it was amazing. I still fight bouts of depression, but it usually is short lived. The program monitors your blood for an optimal levels. You take supplements and vitamins to complete the treatment. I’m 68 now an my levels are usually in the 900 to 700 range. The pellets release what you need based on your activity level. I go every 5 months for the procedure. I have less inflammation in my body and have more energy. It’s a win for me, I will never go back
to the old way. Take care!
If you have insurance and have low T with a hypogonadism insurance may assist. Xyosted does have a discount card program i use and brings it down to a $15.00 copay. Private type hormone treatment companies like LRD stated can be very expensive. I would talk to your Dr to get the blood work done and if low ask about a prescription for Testosterone meds of some sort.Like most medical anything it’s can get expensive.
Hi Yes you may ask me anything. I learned long ago the easiest and best way for me to live was being open and honest with people. I am sorry I don't remember The exact date but I think it was near the beginning of 2021. I had the effects of low testosterone for years but was not aware of it. I had thinning bones that I thought was just related to my bone syndrome. My pain doctor dealing with my bone decline asked about my testosterone, and I did not know. She had the tests run, it was like 6. So she got with my endocrinologist that started me on testosterone. The results were amazing. Sadly I think they may have to up my dose, the effects are not the same as they were. Hope you are doing well. Best wishes. ScottieHow long have you been on it if that’s ok to ask?
Hi. Thank you for alerting me to this. I see that is a self injection pen. I have that then for my insulin. One for fast acting and another kind for nighttime long acting. They are much better than using the normal vial / needle syringe combo. Is the needle smaller than the 24 gauge I use? I grit my teeth every two weeks when I have to do it. It is important I know but it feels alike another punishment. Best wishes. ScottieThat is what i did for almost 10 years, Xyosted did not exist when i started
