A new community of men

Having joined my sons practices (picking them up and coach meetings) and now having been to a wrestling match I am finding the community of other dads and boys to be so great not only for my boys making new friends but other dads becoming friends with me. All of the guys that the boys wrestle in practice can be rivals but once you go to the meets the boys know they are on the same team and the boys and dads cheer them on. I am planning a bbq at my house for the boys and their dads if coach approves.

@Trev, that’s cool! I commend you for taking in that social atmosphere. I so wish I would have been more open and not so isolating when my kids were younger. That was a missed opportunity, I now understand. Social situations are not always easy for us survivors. It is perfect modeling for you sons!

Fantastic, it’s nothing like a dies in their kids coming together. I’m so glad you found this for your boys too. It can be a fantastic time for them as well as yourself.
