Crackling fire

Crackling fire
The glow in the dark
Taking the chill out the air
But fire doesn't care

It would destroy all in its path
If it was given a chance
To do more than just dance

When fuelled it rages
Climbing higher
Were taught to fear the fire

But I fear the dark
After the fire burns out
Without doubt

The cold air
After the warmth is lost
Like a bitter frost

Cold, hard unforgiving

HL, I feel the Crackling fire, but it the dark cold….
Interesting poem. I’ve come back to read again. Thanks!
