yet we are here

Silent suffering

you say it can’t happen only men do that

yet that 13 year old girl when I was 12 did that to me

you stigmatize us, ostracize us and push us away

yet here we are, silent, destroyed, broken, angry and waiting
 
Indeed. People see only the cultural objectifications of those who are said to be male or female. To this day my family will not even acknowledge I was sexually abused by a person who was female, but groups like this understand.
 
I was abused by girls including my older sister. Some of it was traumatic, but other stuff was more subtle and perhaps even more destructive and confusing.
 
I was fifteen. She was over thirty. An overseas basement laundry. For the longest time I didn't know what to make of it.
