Hi, I got into my group therapy thing!
I'm just so pleased because it was posed as so selective, and it was the only male survivor group around after a month's looking, and basically just thrilled after finding it to be possibly quite good, and then being accepted! The therapist seemed very good, easy to relate to, understanding, not pressuring, and not scary (and understanding of the abuse firsthand, though having had extensive therapy and groups for about two decades) Hopefully no red flags there. I think i can actually move on now quicker that i have other people to talk to about this, not just reading and family messes, and, yes, messes, not really support--though i guess these are just people too so hopefully won't have to deal with non-good relations in the group, though it is moderated by an apparently level-headed therapist. Haven't gone yet, so we'll see, but from the feeling of it seems perhaps very, very good.
I'm just pleased. But it's not starting immediately so of course i have to wait ;
