Thanks you guys! I just read all of the warm responses to my scared little bunny rabbit "afraid to say hello" post and I am grateful for your embrace and a little ashamed of my fear. I should have known better than to doubt such strong courageous individuals as yourselves. As one guy said: "Gay shmay". Ha Ha!! I don't know when I have felt so accepted and part of something important. Yes, the price of admission here is very high and, though it may be very hard to see much of the time, maybe it is ultimately worth it considering the journey of consciousness one must undergo in order to become a survivor. I think I am just now starting to get my head around that idea. Bless you all.

Hi Roy,

I'm new too. Sorry you're here, but nice to meet you.

Part of what you said above is incredibly important and something I try to remember all the time; something good can be the result of all of this.

Socrates said "The unexamined life is not worth living". If our history does nothing else to us, it forces us to examine everything, sometimes over and over; ourselves, our actions, humaninty, motivations, violence, peace, forgiveness, spirituality, and on and on and on.

I think it's true that survivors have an abundance of admirable qualities, and an understanding, generosity, and compassion that can only be a blessing to anyone they encounter.

Maybe because we have known the worst of things and lived to tell, we can accept and even embrace almost anything that is not causing harm to anyone.

Thanks for the reminder.

Donald
