what happened to the chatroom?

The chat room you were used to was a beta version that's been withdrawn at least temporarily from the site (many of us hope it's permanent) The old chat room has been put in it's place. It works quite well and is very user friendly, much more so than the version you know.
One drawback is that since you were never registered for the old chat, you may have to re register for chat with this version we are currently using. It also takes a few seconds once you click the chat button on the drop-down menu for it to load. You also have to have Java or some such software on your machine. I think there are instructions on the main chat log-in page about that.
