As a sex abuse therapist, I may get one or two referrals a year from this website. That is probably higher than most as I am located between NYC and Philadelphia. I also have been doing this work for over 20 years and am pretty well known in NJ and nationally, so I get many more referrals from former clients, lawyers, child protective services, prevention organizations, etc. than I get from this site. In other words, the web site provides me less than 1% of my income. Add to that, I charge survivors less than I charge offenders (a partial way of getting restitution from offenders to survivors).
I think this would be the case for many other sex abuse therapists, if not most.
The other post is also significant. We need names of experienced therapists for the resource directory. It is very frustrating for me to get emails from survivors or their partners/parents, etc., looking for someone to help them and not even finding a name in their area or state. If you know of any therapists you would recommend, please ask them to fill out the resource directory information. We need more therapists and support groups around the country, Canada, and other countries that are now reading the NOMSV website.

Good point Ken about having more therapists sign up. I will check with mine again. Each pearson on the list counts. I am very greatful for this sight! Thanks for your input.
