I am trying to find out what percent of rapes that have happened had a wittness other than the person or persons that that commited the rape .
If there was no wittness I need to know this also .
The reason that I need this is that I was a male rape victom of rape while i was in the service . and the V.A.is giveing me a hard time because they say that no one saw the rape happen
I think that this is the stupidest thing that I have ever heard . Because if there were other people around . the rape probly would not of happened .
This is verry important to me
 
OKIE MIKE, I have had many of those witnessing that I was being raped. None of them helped. They were in a short distance from me, walking near their houses, but I was raped, nonetheless. I think rape can be stopped if the people witnessing it are, first of all, want to do that. I am very sorry that you've had the rape...
 
Mine was not witnessed. Just me and the perp. Wish my roommate had been there. Then again, maybe not. I dunno...

Suffice it to say that that is indeed one of the stupidest things to say to a rape victim, male AND female. On the other hand though, in some instances, even if there is a witness, that witness either could be subdued by a more powerful assailant, or having witnessed an atrocity such as rape can also paralyze them mentally. Some people don't have the "mental resources", for lack of a better term, to cope and understand such things as rape.

I do not know what V.A. stands for, but to try and make you deny the event ever happened by coming up with a lame statement such as "if there aren't witnesses, then it didn't happen" is not befitting a councillor/therapist. That's more a lawyer's job. At least that's the impression I'm getting from your post. I apologize in advance if I'm wrong, and to any decent lawyers out there.

No one witnessed my rapes and this is the first time I have called it that and it fells funny. If someone had witnessed it, I don't know that it would have made any difference. I have found people and it would seem the military also are like the 3 monkeys, they see, hear & speak no evil & so, as we all know, there is none. We're just having a little male bonding so to speak & everyone lives happily ever after. O, except for the children, but then that would ruin this fairy tale wouldn't it?
 
What happened within my house, the abuses from my parents, they were witnessed by each other and my grandmother as well. The sexual abuse outside of the house, no, that was never witnessed by anyone. I wish you luck.
