I was a medical tech (or whatever they called us). I worked in the hospitals on the east coast for all the broken guys sent back all fucked up. Most all the guy I took care of and when they died their names were never put up on the wall. My stepfather's nephew worked in one of those swift boats and died about 10 years ago from agent orange. His name isn't up on that wall. The 50 quadriplegics that I helped take care of
only had a life expectancy of 20 years. Their all dead and their names are not up on that fucken wall.

Thank you guys. I think you guys are. I remember being called "baby killers". I was never able to wear my uniform because people would try and screw me in some way. Overcharge for a taxi, etc.

Sorry I'm so bitter but I lost friends, school friends and friends from the neighborhood. I was stationed at Andrews AFB in Maryland which was a hop, skip, and a jump from Dover AFB. I was there and saw a couple of those planes (c-141?) full of flag-draped aluminum caskets with a purple heart pinned to the flag. I had to go off to the side behind some equipment and cry wondering if my school friend was in one. Maybe not on that trip but one just like it. I'll never forget the 50 bed ward with every bed loaded with a quad.

I know all those who served in Vietnam never got a formal homecoming except at Dover AFB. What a fucken shame.

I have two photos each together with a friend. one from school and one from basic. They both had an official homecoming here at Dover AFB

I got to stop here, this is fucken me up

🇺🇲Thank you all for your service no matter what you did.🇺🇲

I'm sorry guys but I'm still very bitter. It's really too late for a parade. I would imagine that most of the guys that were in service during Vietnam are at least in their 60s. I got my parade every time I flew into NY JFK in uniform (because I got a special price). I was spit at, cursed at, and called all kinds of names. That was my parade, I'll never forget it. In a way, I'm honored.

these two heroes were the last to die in Vietnam. While the entire south Vietnamese army was shedding their uniforms, boots, and anything military. They had to get rid of their military ID's. This is what those guys died for. One guy was in-country only 11 days, the other guy about a month.

The only guys who got their parade at Dover AFB were those who died in action or a military hospital. Those guys who died from their wounds at home didn't get the honor of being on the Wall in DC. My stepfather's nephew died about 15 years ago from Agent Orange. He's not on the wall. I mentioned that one of the jobs I work in was a 50-bed ward with quadriplegic military. They were eventually sent home. their life expectancy was 20 years, they're all dead. Why don't they deserve the honor to be on that wall? they all died for their country.

I just want to thank you all for your service. You're all special. You're all very special people

Peace Out ✌️🫂🤟

From November 11 through Christmas it's so hard to read anything about Vietnam without tears flowing. My time on active duty in the Army were spent in Ft. Riley, Kansas (in those days known as the asshole of the US) When I visited The Wall I never found the names of two guys I served with, but I know they were there. I got to go home for Christmas, they missed that holiday, and all the other ones too. I stayed stateside the whole time, they got to see Southeast Asia up close.
While I appreciate the thought, whenever I hear someone say "Thank you for your service" I have an extra helping of guilt because I can't share that sentiment with my two Army buddies or all those who were needlessly maimed or gave their all.
