thanks for the love everyone!

pierre came back from surgury - fine!

the reunion between the two birds -

was so joyous for them - truly -

they are 2 years old and together everyday of their lives -

and now they are back together (after two days apart) !
the sounds were

wooohooo! in bird talk :)

cheers! 4 to 6 weeks of healing and then

if all goes well - Pierre should be flying again -

Wings and prayers are linked in the English verbal culture -- "Coming In On a Wing and a Prayer" was a hit during WWII, we hear people speak of prayers reaching Heaven upon wings. I'm glad the well wishes of the people here reached you and Pierre, and I am very very glad to hear that Pierre is on the mend.

Now, a serious question: you've said elsewhere that the birds are both female, so am I mistaken or do you have a ladybird with a man's name? If so, I find it quite amusing and would love to hear the story of how they came to be named as they are.

hi john - yes they are two ladies named

pierre and margaret - after prime minister pierre trudeau and his wife young margaret -

unfortunately it turned out they were not male female - but female female - and quite 'in love' as they lay eggs as often as they can -

so - such is life - Pierre and Margaret Finch.
