I know recently I've been wrapped up in the Mary Kay Letourneau story, and I apologise if everyone is sick of hearing about it. But it just angers me the way that this is being handled.

Vili, the victim who is filed for and got a no-contact order lifted, in an interview with Matt Lauer of the Today Show. Vili says

"Every girl or woman that I've gone out with, I've always compared Mary to them," Fualaau told Lauer. "I wanted to bond with them on many different levels. And I couldn't do that with any other girl, because I constantly thought about Mary"

Is this part of the effects that the CSA had on Vili?

Just curious, I know someone will have an opinion whether it be a fellow survivor or one of our resident experts.

My guess is that Vili has more of a fantasy attraction to Mary Kay than is based on reality, although the reality was filled with illicit, probably exciting, and dangerous liaisons. A lot of times when we have daring and dangerous acts with others, the recollections of the events, filled with adrenelin and secrecy, seem more powerful.

I suspect that if the two get together again for legal "bliss" it won't last because the reality can't match the recollections and fantasy. I mean, really, how many 20 somethings are going to be enamoured with the aging, menopausal (in a few years) older woman.

Not wanting to sound ageist or sexist, but in the end, gravity wins.

On the other hand, I have to admit that at age 56, my 55 year old wife of 30 years still looks damn good. (Sorry if that spoiled anyone's fantasy image of me.) :rolleyes:

I am not obsessed with it but I find it truly sickening that this b**** still hasn't accepted what she has done to this boy. And those poor little girls. They can't shield them from it forever.

I hope Ken is right, and that Vili finds out he has nothing in common with this over the hill piece of garbage.

Ken, I think the word about your wife is truly touching. Good for you. And for her!
