The biggest goddamn lie of them all.

If he "loved" me, he wouldn't have HURT me.

If he "loved" me, he wouldn't have let that other animal hurt me.

If he "loved" me, he wouldn't have terrorized me to keep quiet.

The biggest lie of them all - I love you.

In the wrong hands, those words can be deadly.

I thought that the guy who abused me loved me too. I wanted that attention so badly that I would do anything for it. The betrayal was devastating to me. To this day it is hard for me to say "I love you" to anyone but my children and close family.

Scot - I've said before that LOVE is a word I find very difficult to say.

When it's used correctly and meant, it is probably the most powerful word there is - to me it's just tainted & cheap most of the time.

My godchildren say it to me & they are the ones I believe most!

I'll bet he didn't know the meaning of the word. If it had ever been real in his own life, he probably had not been able to recognize it or respond to it. So it was nothing to him but a word he could use against you.

It is more than a word.
