sorry, but that thermometer is the most annoying thing I've seen on any web site!

I know that raising funds is vitally important, and something visual is needed so we can see how much is being raised, but it makes the site just about unasable because you can't get rid of it.

If I click "collapse image" it just reduces it to about 50%, and every time I chage page it pops right back to full size, and cannot be dragged to a different part of the screen either.

Sorry, I know someone worked hard to do this, but personally I think it needs changeing.

Yes, AND.....

unless you have a visa, you can't donate anyway so

GIVE US SOME MORE PAYMENT METHODS IF YOU WANT OUR MONEY and get rid of that bloody thermometer!!

i think it's a good idea actually -

i think we are all too complacent in how happy we are
and comfortable we are in using this site -

we must concede that it takes funds to run it so well -

so like - if it takes an irritant to prod us to action -

it seems like we might see this as helpful -

i can't wait to go into chat - but it's been down the last two days....

sorry if that is bitchy - but it's too easy and not a good priority to me to say

'that's irritating' when the actual significance is - the funding of MS.

it's easy to criticize - please offer an alternative - that you would deem more effective -

i think offering more - payment methods is awesome

so that we can get funding as many ways as possible.
 
Well I have to agree...I also wonder what is the 100% goal? It just gives % and not an amount. Would like to know what the $ goal is we are trying to hit.

I too want to donate, but cant because MS dont have measures in place to accept international donations other than with VISA.

I was such a fuck up as a result of my abuse that even now that I am sucessful and quite well off, no bank will give me a visa card.

So - I cant donate.

Find a solution MS, you'll get more money when you do.

It is an annoyance, maybe it can be set to collapse until clicked on.

It does however remind members that money is needed. You may be able to set your browser to stop running scripts on pages,

Don't really like the temperature thing either.
Because it follows you 'around'.
Just put it somewhere on the top of each page I guess, but not moving, just the pic & the link..
Would be less annoying, I think.

I dont use internet exploder, but if you right click on it, you may be able to block content or scripts.

what if it was just on the main page and not the discussion board....

and the reason it doesn't have amounts is that as it is it is free....had to pay to change it...

I don't mind it there too badly, just an annoyance but I'm starting to get used to it there.

If I donate will it dissappear, or do I still have to put up with it?

LOL John....

Brent...no keep it on all of the pages. Just dont make it follow us like a lost puppy dog. I dont mind seeing where we are at on this but could ya just make it stay at the top or something. As for paying for the amount .. ok fair enough.. maybe a post telling us what the goal is? Something like that.

Brent, take the Java script off and put it as a gif on main page, you could have a link to amounts raised with a hyperlink.

It needs to be there, not everywhere,

God, that thermometer is going to turn me into a serial killer. I'm so glad others have commented. It's annoying beyond imagination, and from what has been said it will stay there even if you contribute or have already contributed.

last night i had this dream ,i was being chased by a huge thermometer! just kidding lol.i'll put up with it if it means this site will continue its a small price to pay for what i get here adam

I'll agree with you on that. My only objection to the whole thermometer thing is the fact that people are really turned off by "pop-ups" like this, and I'm afraid it will put people off that otherwise would come here and participate and find healing from the pain.

I don't mind havng the themometer at the top of every page but would want it to stay at the top, not follow me around getting in the way like some cat curling itself around my feet and tripping me up ;)
