I am a survivor and a successful composer who has adapted 3 poems by survivors into songs. If this piece will be helpful to you and/or your loved one(s), it will be performed on May 11 at 8PM at the Mannes School of Music at 150 W. 85th between Columbus and Amsterdam. Admission is free.
 
That is so cool. Can you tell us more about what this performance will include. The train is an easy way to get to your concert. I am interested?
 
My piece about abuse will be performed as part of a compositional recital with other composers and their works. Mine will be towards the beginning of the program. The poems came out of a collection called "In Cabin 6." The first 2 of the 3 poems detail abuse in fairly graphic, but honest language and the last poem details the healing process. let me know if i can answer any other questions. thanks for asking and hope survivors, friends, and family will consider coming.
 
For those of us who don't live there, has this been recorded? Is it possible to get it on a website to be listened to in Windows Media Player or Real Player? I think it will benefit lots of folks.
