Sticking up for yourself

I see a load of guys who come here finally sticking up for themselves.
Whether it is an abuser who has threatened them, to any other event in life.

Sticking up for myself means empowerment, and its sure better than taking all the shit I took in my past.

It can be a huge step, and not for everybody, but it is a tool that we have to stop ourselves being 'used'.

If every kid was given their chance to empower themselves against abuse, then there would be less need for adult intervention later on,

You are so right. And when we stick up for ourselves we are claiming that we are worthwhile. We are also asserting the new confidence we gain as we recover.
