Tonight one of the men in my malesurvivor group and I talked to eight boys aged 5 to 11. All of them are survivors.

There group began with supper for them. Then Todd, their main therapist reviewed some rules and introduced my friend and I.

We each told out stories and the kids asked questions. Then, gradually, the boys began to tell their stories in some detail.

It is a wonderful program--they have three groups a year for boys and for girls, as well as the group for the adult males. There is no charge for any of it.

At the end the boys, and we, got a gift of a flashlight. The kids had to earn theirs by listening and being respectful. They did well and we all praised them for telling about their abuse.

It was a healing moment for me and one of great hope. This program has gone on for over two years and I had never heard of it.

That's as wonderful as it is heartbreaking.

But it's a fact that abuse still happens and anything to done to help kids at that age is great.

It's given me something to think about over here.

It sounds great. Not enought is done to help kids. Very senative area also.

WOW! what a great experience. Your dedication to helping the healing of others shows.

Seeing healing has always brought tears - for them and for myself - it gives me hope and reminds me that I have purpose.

I cry, also, for the many who did not get help for so long - who endured suffering and consequences of their acting out (prison-disrupted relationships-lonelyness). For me, healing is like a light - a spirtual force that for a moment proclaims my place on this earth (so long not understood by myself) - thanks for telling us about it.

Bob I did not know how to reply to this post until now. I am so sad that little children continue to be enveloped in evil. I fluctuate between tears and rage.

Really all I can say is god bless you and your group for doing this. It may help them on the road to healing faster and realize that even older men have syuffered like they have.

You have my greatest admiration

Hey Dean,

First let me start of by saying thanks for the support you have shown to me since i have been here. This post shows the inner core of your spirit which is very much a great person who cares deeply for others.I really wished i had someone to talk with at the same age of these very young people...Dean, i am sure you have made a great impact on these young people and i am sure that by what you have done that you have helped to change a young person's life around and have helped them to become a survivor within themselves.Dean maybe sometime we can have that chat that you think might help me,i want to survive and i am open to listen to what you have to say maybe something just might change the way i feel and do with my life.Hope to talk with you sometime soon.

Take Care,
Matt

Hi Matt,
I always find myself feeling stronger and less afraid when I talk with another survivor. Just let me know when it is convenient and we can sure talk.

It is really hard to see these little tykes and to know that someone used them for their pleasure. But know what? They are still 100% little boys and in a real sense innocent as can be.
