I found this link on the MS site off the News & Events > Announcements page: https://www.delavandramaworks.com/silence.html

The link describes a work-in-progress by a professional documentarian/film producer, Ethan Delavan. Finally, from a survivor/thriver producer, a documentary about the long term consequences of sexual abuse on males, and for me even more important, a focus on the recovery process!

There is trailer showing some of the work done on this show so far. I was impressed with it's high quality. The trailer runs almost ten minutes and is about 62 meg total in quicktime format. If you don't have a broadband connection I believe it's still worth watching/downloading this clip. Modem users, just let it run/download overnight, your web broswer should cache the movie for later viewing.

I wrote to Mr. Delavan asking for an update on the project and got this reply 12/23/2003:

By way of status update, the documentary effort is going well. I am just making final preparations to conduct a few interviews in Minnesota this coming week. There is a survivor there whose story I've been capturing. KCTS Television, Seattle's PBS station, is behind the project with their expertise and intention both to broadcast and to market it when finished. I will present a work-in-progress version at the Male Survivor conference in 2003 with the aim of organizing an outreach campaign. I have about 20 hours of footage on tape and will likely need another 20 hours in order to round out my coverage. Since I'm an independent producer, I work as economically as possible until I have a thorough sample of the piece to show to potential funders. Then they can get a strong sense of the quality of the work in order to feel confident in funding the final editing, publicity, broadcast and outreach stages.

The documentary is sponsored by Male Survivor via their non-profit status. You can make a check payable to Male Survivor and send it directly to them or to me. My address is below this message. If you send it to Male Survivor, be sure to include a note designating it for Stories of Silence. Male Survivor retains 5% for administrative purposes. Donations to them are, of course, tax deductible as allowed by law. Their address is:

I believe donations can also be made through the "store" on the MS/NOMSV web site.
