Someone very special in my life

Someone very special in my life

Jose came into my life in 1995. He was only 7 years old at the time. Every now and then I write him letters and he writes me letters. He always draws and colors a picture of the outdoors in the bottom of the letters. For a long time his sister would write the letters for him but now he has learned enough in school that he is able to write the letters very well. I can tell that the support I give through Children International is helping him in so many ways.

But more importantly when I get too well acquainted with the abuse and the dark side of the world, I get a lettter and a picture in the mail. It once again reminds me that there is hope, there is life, there is innocence. It once again reminds me how precious and beautiful life is.

I'm not sure if Jose really knows what he means to me, and some day I hope to get to meet him face to face.

But the following picture is worth a million words and then some!

MrDon:

Thanks, and how inspiring! Isn't this what we're surviving & living for, the kind of thing that makes us thrive, that expresses the inner goodness I believe we all have? Yes!

What better way to drive away the darkness, to overcome evil with good, to turn evil around and live (evil is live spelled backwards), to find a something better to do & get an "adrenaline rush" & satisfaction that no medicating or acting out could possibly give? There is no better way!

Way to go Don! Thanks for the hope & inspiration!

I'm going to print his picture and pin it on the board here to remind me there are decent people in this world.
