Self-Parenting Book.
Hi,
I am two-thirds through this book called "Self-Parenting: The Complete Guide to Inner Conversations" by John K. Pollard III. It show how to 'learn, support, and nurture your "inner" child'. I have found it extremely useful and it might be of interest to some who post here.
It distinguishes between the Inner Child whose domain are feelings emotions, and responses, and Inner Parent who represents thoughts, judgements, and analyses. The Inner Parent learned from our parents and other significant people when we were children. The two conduct Inner conversations that take place usually on a subconscious level. Inner Conflicts are often part of the Inner Conversations, when there are unresolved issues.
Those can run our lives without our awareness.
In basic terms, this book teaches on how to listen to our inner conversations and make them work for us positively. I am finding it great when it comes to sorting through some of my own inner turmoil.
Peace, Focus.
