Lance Armstrong has the "Live Stronger" bracelet and I know alot of organizations members will wear things to flag their affiliations with it.

Is there something that male survivors wear that shows they're SA survivors?
 
PhillPa. Not that I know of. I think the best way for us to live life the way we were meant to and not as something that is somewhat less than human. The ability to recognize the flashbacks, coping skills, etc are merely revisiting history and that they have no stake in tomorrow is, for want of a better word, our flag to the world. That and becoming active with society to wake them up to the fact that this is a crime that can no longer be hidden or shoved under the carpet.

I kind of wondered if we could do something like that too. But I'm getting the feeling the bracelet thing is playing out (at least around here especially because of the local counterfeit market). The other worry is Im not so sure many survivors would want to announce that they are survivors, I know just because one wears a bracelet doesnt make you a survivor but I think that may be the thinking of some folks.

Even with that said though, I think that is a great idea PA and really would like to see something like that though and perhaps have the proceeds go to MS. Personally, would wear something like that with great pride.
 
I had a small tattoo done several months ago - it's a chinese symbol and stands for either Promise or Vow.

My friends asked why I selected that one - my answer 'I promise / vow to myself that I will never allow myself to get so low again, because of what he did'.

Sometimes I touch it when I feel a bit down - I can close my left arm over my heart & touch my tattoo just above my right elbow at the same time. It's comforting & I am sure I will tell many people why I have it in the future.

That's my Survivor signal.

I would also like to have symbols relative to the 3 Friends that have supported me when I needed it most. I will probably do this once I know the journey against my abuser is complete(potential court case).

Perhaps we could have a specific symbol for this site (I appreciate that not everyone would like a tattoo, but we're all marked for life so why not have a mark for our tribe?).

Hey Philly, you inspired me to check on pricing for wristbands. We'll see what they say, I mean why not at least look into it eh?
 
Hi Roland, did you find any? I was looking myself. I like the Lance Armstrong style. What color? Not yellow. Is Black taken? With, maybe, a White 'M'?
I couldnt find where you can request them to be produced. Ide contact Nike but they cant keep up with demand.

Roland, kool! I requested a quote. I found this other website who claims to be the original makers of "silicone bracelets". They want $1.64 for each bracelet made + molding fees!
The EZBracelets site seems more flexible and willing, plus a quote is just an inquiry (nothing to hold you to).
It looks like Black is for mourning or melanoma, according to a reference site for colors.

That is interesting concept. I am not sure I would be interested at this time. Well, Maybe to have one, but not to wear it. Not yet.

Thats the beauty of this Leosha, you dont have to be a survivor of CSA to wear one any more then you have to be a cancer survivor to wear a LIVESTRONG band. I think it may be a good way to get the word out.

Oh, and I found a place that will print as little as 20 at a time.
 
You know Curis you may be on to something. I am wondering how all those here feel about it. Maybe we could get Dave-the big cahuna Moderator or Ken-Old wiseman to post a poll. If it was not tacky at all I think I could persuade myself to wear one. I really would like a tatoo but my wife Nicole threatened all sorts of mayhem when I wanted a cougars snarling head on my left shoulder.
 
I have seen "Cherish the Innocent" white wrist band w/ "darkness2light.org on the inside, but they are not listed for sale there.

I would LOVE one!

I would be up for this idea. Not sure if it would matter or not but here is a link that tells what some colors symbolize. Might help pick one.

I kind of like the last part of orange "Demanding of attention", because this by doing this we are doing that. Just a thought.

That's pretty cool James, I was thinking blue (to match the website's motief) and this is what they say about that...

I have a question on the "ask the board" forum to see if the site is interested or if we can use the MS web address if I made them myself.
 
Well, I had "Target" printed on my front and back when I was a kid, and "Loser," all over, most of my adult life, maybe a "Survivor of CSA" wristband wouldn't be so bad. Of course, the wristband would be optional, the others, weren't.

Just a little down, today.
