There has been a lot of talk about NAMBLA here in recent weeks, so I thought it might be a good counterbalance to point out a great organization that is using and exploiting the Internet for all its POSITIVE possibilities. I think this post should go here.

Last night someone told me about the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which has a website at https://www.missingkids.com. It's a great resource. There are specific sections for abuse issues and a lot of free downloads of important reports and documents as pdf files.

As we have numerous brothers here who were photographed and wonder what has happened to the pictures, I would like to point out that the NCMEC also runs the CyberTipLine, https://www.missingkids.com/missingkids/servlet/PageServlet?LanguageCountry=en_US&PageId=169. Among other things, they collect information about the posting of pornographic photos of children under the age of 18 on the Internet and pass this information on to the police and service providers.

I thought it would help you guys to know that there IS an effort being made to combat pedophiles' use of these images and identify who is doing it.

Much love,
Larry

Larry,

the internet should be free of easy accessible child porn.
It can be tackled, it stares in the face of authority the means to do it.

Each picture has a unique ID, much like DNA, of course it is not 100% foolproof.
If you have a webcrawling robot that was jenned up with the right information, it would weed a lot of it out.

The biggest trouble makers are P2P web clients such as winmx and kazaa to name a few.
These are the packages that perps use to distribute this stuff.

Perps openly distribute this stuff using coded names on files, I did a study on it.
They can call a file S00 or something like that, but when you look at their share, they are obviously perps.

If I can do it, why cant the cops do the same?

You tell me,

Ste,

If I can do it, why cant the cops do the same?
Good question! Are there legal limits on steps they can take? (I have no idea.) Funding and time considerations?

Larry

Larry,

I dont have the software to track their IP addresses the cops do.
I could prob find it if I looked hard enough.

Its not my job to tell the cops how to do things, they are like the blind leading the blind.
They wait for the public to alert them before they even do anything.

All they need to do is snap IP addresses of each perp, follow what they are exchanging and pounce after they have identified them all.

It just needs the will and international clout to get together the banging of heads with logic which seems pretty much lacking,

This is another cool site. This one is an organisation founded by the porn industry to fight child porn online. I am impressed with how well put together they seem to be.

It's interesting to see that ASACP takes a lot of sponsorhip from the porn industry such as Hustler and Playboy, but what the hell, they make millions by legally satisfying a demand.

Take the money, fight child porn!

Dave

And I will happily support them by consuming their product! Win-Win! :D

Dave,

Well, Hustler and Playboy are of course just doing this as fuel for their cynical argument that what they produce isn't porn. That said, maybe it isn't.

Still, I doubt they are really interested very much in issues of sexual exploitation. What is the so-called "Playboy Mansion", after all, if not a icon exulting in that very idea?

Just some thoughts and not directed as a criticism to you. I think you would probably agree with me.
