I am just coming to realize, through therapy, that I have abuse issues that I have no memories for, whatsoever. I know this is common, but how do you deal with the fact that you feel there is something there, but you cannot remember anything about it?

Gary,

For me that was a stage on the way to "recovering" a more or less full set of memories. They were always there, I was just refusing to put them together and look at them.

For me what was especially rough was admitting to myself that there WAS something to look at. Once I was ready to do that there was no end of things to see. So my case seems rather different from yours.

But as you say, a total lack of memories does commonly occur. Your T ought to be able to help you in this area but I hope you will go slowly. It's a pretty dramatic time when all this stuff starts to come together.

Much love,
Larry
