MGB,

If I can't laugh at myself, how can I laugh at all. Like most us, if I didn't laugh that only left crying. So, I look for silliness everyday. :p

The survivors are the biggest tool in cover up from pervs who treated us like shit, now is the time to lift the lid.
So true Ste, our silence - for whatever reasons - has been the reason perp's go unpunished and carry on.
If we are able and feel safe enough to do so we should break THEIR secrets.

foreverfighting,

Mike wrote this pearl,

" Man, I've got issues, huh? Sometimes I actually feel sane, and then I write about my head and I feel like a complete wacko. Talking about this honestly makes me think how we're not victims of SA. We're victims of an entire poisonous family tree where everything is lined up just wrong to destroy us, to taint everything I think and do. And just when I think I've escaped the fire swamp, this giant flaming beast comes out, knocks me down, and sets me on fire. I'm laying there smoldering, wondering, Where did THIS come from"?

I think we have all met this many times before,

Today I will talk to anyone about my abuse, thats why I am getting involved in politics because of this. I just dont care what they think of me, because they sure cant think of me as badly as I thought about myself for so many years.
I'm lucky enough to have Kirk as a friend, and know that he's not bullshitting.

Now, he has every reason to be proud of himself because he has changed his thinking about himself.
He believes in himself, and that's something we should all strive for.

Dave

Here's our Rik again:

"This town will soon be so much safer for that kid now, and that's what finally set me off!"

This was after he received notice that his abuser was going to prison.

With much admiration,

Hate to be repetitive but this guy is just on a roll right now.

"I think that I can see the horizon now. before, all I could see was my feet!" - Rik

We survivors have much to be thankful for and more and more predators have to start looking over their shoulders because this one man woke up one day and said "Enough!"

Zipser

Im gonna steal a quote about a quote!

Sorry.....

I'm lucky enough to have Kirk as a friend, and know that he's not bullshitting.
Me too and dam right he isnt bullshitting, he is one tough cookie and an inspiration to us all.

It's so great to see this thread come back. I was wondering what happened to it!

Much love,
Larry

Here's one from the members side that is very inspirational to me:

"And every time a new person signs into this site, that's one more boy that they didn't get...one more boy who is still fighting...one more boy who, no matter how long and how hard the fight,is still determined to win."

Since it's on the members side confidentiality must be respected but this guy really knows how to write.

Regards to all,

Zipser

Same gentleman as above:

"Once in a while in the midst of the sadness and the loneliness and the pain and the anguish, I just get pissed."

Forget it, ignore button in chat. We need one in life!
Andrei when talking about toxic people and our attitude toward them.

Thanks Andrei.

this is a greaaat idea, i like it a lot,
when i read the subject/topic i instantly knew what to post,
buut its not something that someone on here has said...
its a LITTLE long, not novel length but a couple sentences or so, but so worth it
i know its not something that someonees said, so srry, im breaking the rules, but i think its an amazing thing and i want people to know it,

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes -Charles Swindoll

Josh,

That is an awesome quote. So absolutely true. Glad you shared it. Keep that in mind as you live your life and you'll make it, Bro. You'll be unstoppable even tho you've had all this shit of abuse in your life.

Lots of love,

John

I quote Mr J. King, notorious perp of a fellow MS guy....(taken from another site)

Thanks most of all for the new technology that allows even vile perverts to put their points across.
A tacit admission of what he really is.

This is not from another Survivor's post but it is something that I have kept in mind for a while, "Your persistence is your belief in your self." Brian Tracy-motivational speaker
