In the Plain Dealer (August 3, 2006) an article on page B6, by [email protected], 216-999-4153, states "Pedophile: Sex with boys is sacred religious ritual".

Phillip Distasio is a self admitted pedophile, charged with 74 counts of rape, drugs & pandering. He states, "I'm a pedophile. I've been one for 20 years". All but 1 of his victims were under 13, which carries a mandatory life sentence. Distasio is using a "Religious Freedom" defense. He states, "Not all pedophillia is bad, and sex with boys can be healthy". Distasio said his Rocky River apartment was a religious sanctuary where engaging in sex with boys and smoking marijuana were considered sacred rituals and protected under civil rights laws.
He considers his victims as congregants. Distasio wants to call them in as defense witnesses.
The Prosecutor in this case is Brendan Sheehan.
 
Wow, he wants them to testify on how he has fulfilled their lives.

Send him down, and all the little boys who were abused as kids will tell him just how much they liked it.

This should be in news section.
He has no defence on the planet,]]

Hi Blacken, glad to see you back on the site.
Sometimes it boggles the mind, as to the defence these people come up with. If this gets shot down, I guess they will go with Innocent due to insanity. Only a insane person would come up with this defence.

If this is the same case we were talking about earlier, I remember even this guy's pic being triggering. Religion indeed. Once he goes to prison the inmates will teach him how to worship in a brand-new religion they have concocted just for him.

I understand this topic qualifies as "news", but it also qualifies as, "Twisted thinking of the Perp". For a survivor, I'm thinking how justified this guy thinks he is. That he is actually doing good. That he believes he is helping those children. If he actually believes in what he is saying, that is even scarier.

Did he dream this up, in case he got caught, or does he actually believe in what he is preaching.

And, as absolutely sick as he is, does he have a viable case, even though we don't agree with it.

Even if/when he is convicted, does this open the doors for an even smarter Perp to use?
 
There is no shortage of people who would identify themselves as pedos, find the right sites, and there are many, you will find them networking together, and saying things like, Oh, we are off to London, or wherever because the boys are more beautiful etc.

I suppose it is like a drug for them, and it is much more addictive than any hard drug or addiction.

A lot of the time it is a serious breach of trust, as the perp gets into the boys family circle and in some instances, do things in their own family home.

He is probably trying to use the 'defence' that the boys liked it, which in law is no defence.
It is all down to the Judge and prosecution as to what happens to him, but unfortunately a lot of legal ppl are green to effects of CSA.

Thats a nice cop out. What a way to shut down the feeling of guilt for taking advantage of a young child by trying to assimilate it with religious rituals. This is how we know that pedophilia is a mental illness. The man is guilty and should accept responsibility for his actions. He needs to be taken off the streets immediately.
