Pdoc ignored me

Sorry guys,

Not the most stable right now. I have been out of meds for days. My pdoc is ignoring me. Doesn't return my calls.

Went to the hospital for meds, but all they can do is precsribe. Without a plan physician (psychiatrist) ordering them, they are too expensive for me.

So I am having to go cold turkey.

Very hard. Bad thoughts.

Marc, here is what I would do--you may not care to do it, but it if what I would do.

I would call the LA County Medical Society and ask if they could encourage your physician to respond to you need for refils or whatever of your medication.

If they ask if you want to file a complaint, just say "no" I want medical care.

You might get some action. Then again, you might not.

You might choose to call you pdocs office one more time and tell them that you will need to call for help from the med soc. if he is unable to answer your call. At least that gives them the chance to make it right.

Sometimes the problem is that the doc never gets the message--it somehow gets lost between whoever took the message and the person who is supposed to let the doc know what your needs are.

Just an update

I am still being ignored by him. Called the Health Department and they cannot get involved.

My insurance company tells me they can't force it either, so I have to get a new doctor. She can't see me for two weeks. So, if I go on meds again, it will be from scratch.

Oh well, things have calmed down do I guess I can live with it.

This may be something for another time, but when you feel strong enough, you might consider filing a grievance with the State Medical Licensing Department.

You've tried everything else, and been more patient that I would've been, but it's worth a try to wake this yahoo up.

I wish you didn't have to go through this, but i'm glad things are better.
