Remember that the actions of humans have nothing to do with God! I am Catholic and my faith has never wavered. The Vatican is now the home to Satan and his puppet the Anti-Pope. I worked on the Catholic molestation cases. I know first hand the horrors that occurred. I interviewed one if the priests. This happens in all religions, organisations and schools.

I agree. I actually grew up with no religion in my home. I was not baptised. It was a staunch catholic area worth my family being the first exposure to 'heathens' for most of the community. I felt the hatred but it only made me more curious. My mother came through the adoption circuit run by the Irish and UK nuns so her answer to was to burn it all but my dad had a strong faith in his younger years. He experienced the belittling of poorer people by the church so turned his back on it. I was exempt from religion in school but I listened and it seemed I was the only one in the classroom that was. It was a novelty to me. When I came home to my dad to ask about some story that caught my attention as it sounded mad, far fetched or whatever, he always explained them in a way that i could understand. He showed me how there was meaning in the stories, lessons about life and what not. I grew up with a huge respect for faith and have looked at all ways of life as a possible source for faith in a higher power because of it. Although I share the disgust and anger towards those that used their positions of authority for abuse but I see that as a sickness in humanity rather than blaming religion. The church itself of course has a tremendous amount of answering to do but it won't take it away. I think it's a dangerous thing to lose faith and we are heading down that road by the mass demonizing of religion. I do feel the religions need to be upgraded in ways I won't speak here in case I offend but we feel the same in the matter of religion disintegrating. Besides all that, this human sickness can only get worse if not treated and I can only see it being heightened through the way access of porn and the rest so blaming the church can be valid for closure on a past but to move forward I must accept that this is still happening and where?

You are correct.

Not surprising in the least if you know the church. But I am surprised how many people stay in denial.

I was abused by 6 different people that I remember starting with a doctor when I was 6. for 2 years in The Boy Scouts by the Scoutmaster and the last one I remember is in a mental hospital by a priest when I was 17 1/2. BTW I am Jewish no one believes me that a priest would have raped a 17 1/2 boy in a mental hospital. It happens every where.
