I did not watch the show. A F&F in the chatroom tonight mention the show was about child molestation. It covered molestation of females and according to the chat guest said that this is the unspoken secret, but never mentioned male victims.

"Remember, this was not your fault. Everyone calls it sexual molestation. I think it should be called sexual seduction, because there's a whole seducing process."

Oprah on molestation

Has anybody seen this? Does anybody have any information about this? I couldn't get the video to play on Oprah's website.

Anyways I e-mailed her and let her know about male victims (a.k.a. a bit of my story), some of the links/articles on this site, and let her know about MS.

Seduction? I may be just getting grumpy, but I really take offense to the idea that there's a "seduction" going on.

Seduction, with regard to sex, means enticing someone to overcome their inhibitions about sex.

In case Oprah may have forgotten, a 7-year-old has no inhibitions about sex because he has no idea what it is.

I watched the episode of Oprah. Made me cry. I also e-mailed her about male abuse. I've also e-mailed another talk show to suggest the topic.

Guys,
I know that you all think the best but you have to be aware that this site is still the only safe haven for many people that do not want to be put on risk to be discovered by any chance.
Please consider this in relation to contact persons such is Oprah.
Thanks.

PS. As I know from Oprah's biography she was molested by her cousin when she was young girl so she should be very familiar with everything.

A term coined several years ago that sounds creepy but to me but fits is, "velvet glove molestation" taking advantage of innocence, leaving the victim to feel responsible especially if it was pleasurable. This is in contrast to violent rape. Both are forms of violence and rape.

If my memory serves me correctly (which it may not here), I think Mike Lew was on Oprah way back when his first book came out. Of course I may be mistaken, but for some reason that sticks in my mind.
