I am not a people person I am a loner . I read thease post every day because I am a male survivor . Some of the things that I read sound like they could be my own life . NA has a saying "one adict helping another " this concept works great for drug problems . I'm sure that no one on this list has ever had a drug abuse problem . yeh rite
But if I had to deal with people in person , I could not do it .I have built a wall around me that I do not let people in , to protect my self.
Because I have neaver met another male rape victom in person . I would be afrade to talk to them face to face . I dont think that you could get a bunch of people with PTSD together in the same room
I have tryed for years to get the VA to start a group councling seson for vets with sexual abuse issues . They wont even try .

Mike I would attend a support group where I live but there isn't one, and I live within a greater metropolitain area of almost 350 thousand people.

Try to open up here. I'm talking as much as I can in the open and I'm also talking about deeper stuff with a few select people.

There comes a point where one has to look outside himself for recovery, because the answer doesn't lie within, it's outside of himself.

Hauser is right.
My wall is pretty high, but I have a side door behind the poison ivy. So I give some people a spray to use before entering. Of course I could chop the god damn shit down but that's too easy.

I am lucky. For the time I have a face to face abuse friend but he's leaving Dodge city on the first stage coach that comes through. It will be difficult for me because of my trust issues but I have to be grateful for the friendship itself because that's all I have now and it will keep me going plus you guys here.
VA?! LOL. They couldn't deal with Agent Orange let alone PTSD.

cynically yours, or is that ribbitly yours??
