I've just watched this film. Robin Williams plays the lead.

While there are many commendable things about this film, I am going to warn you all that this movie can be very triggering for SA survivors.

It might help if you view this film with the idea that it is a story from this board, A Survivor Story. It's not a happy story, but the ending is ambiguous, and I think that allows for hope.

The DVD has commentary by the director, Mark Romanek, and Robin Williams (a first for him). The commentary is mostly sensitive and adds to understanding the film and the choices made in telling this story. Those choices include what is not shown or explicity explained.

I listened to most of the commentary and their interview with Charlie Rose that is included on the DVD, and I'm not convinced that they fully understand the impact and significance of everything in this movie.

For instance, they discuss one scene that I consider very triggering. They talk about how it was accidental in the sense that it occurred in rehearsal, as a real event, and the director decided to include it because it increases the tension and "creepiness".

Anyway, be prepared and be safe if you plan to see this.

This film was good... but sad... and I have to admit I didn't entirely understand the ending. It was kind of vague but I suppose it was meant to be that way.

I am a huge fan of film and I will never discredit a movie because of some reactions it may cause in me but those scenes near the end were extrememly triggering. Still, it was a good movie... I am just glad I had someone with me to hold their hand very tight when those scenes came on...
