Ug! I was looking up flight info and found out that the Sunday night flights don't actually get me home 'till 10am Monday  ! The airport is just around the corner from work, which is probably where I'll leave my car. I might as well put in the days work rather than take a personal day!

Hey guys, got my flights lined up and yes I will be getting home Monday as well. but I know it will be so worth it. Really looking forward to seeing you guys again.

Ken

Utah....

off-roading ? retreat ? off-roading ? retreat ? off-roading ? retreat ? off-roading ? retreat ?

I wish ?

Dave

Hey Dave:
If the retreat is anywhere drivable to Moab, UT, go for it. Moab must be the 4wd/off road capital of the world. We stayed there a couple of nights (one in Arches National Park- incredible campground with very limited reservations, and beautiful sites), but plenty of motels in the town. Consider it as a vacation in healing.
Ken

I hope that those who go have a good time. Good luck.

Leosha

I signed up. Now will I actually go is the question.

It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.
- Joseph Campbell
I'm not saying that a retreat is an abyss. I've been to two. Two years ago and four years ago. And in retrospect, they were places that I stumbled.

They were wonderful and important but they were also very critical points for me that somehow have moved me in the wrong direction. That stumbling again.

The fault lies within me, not the retreats. I have signed up because it gives me a goal and another opportunity to find out why I really can't connect (or can't really connect) to others or to myself.

A retreat may not be the place to find those answers. Right now I think maybe.

Way to go Don! I know it must be hard to try again, but the fact that you are willing to push your comfort level and give it a shot tells me that you are a real fighter.

Um... Is it inappropriate to ask for a massage at a retreat?

I'm kidding! Come on people! :D

Hey! Same flight to Utah! I forgot which seat I reserved. I think it was something on the right before the wing.

Man,
This retreat is actually close to where I live, in relative terms, but I can't go because I have not been to one before. :(
Maybe one should be planned for Seattle or Tacoma, WA.

I had such huge breakthroughs at the Paris retreat that I can't stop saying how important they are to our contiinuing recovery.

They are so intense and full of hard work but the rewards can be tremendous. Many times the work is painful, but the only way to recovery is though all the crap.

A retreat forces you to look at the things that make you the most uncomfortable from within a safe environment. I would go so far to say that it cuts years off recovery time; they repair damage that would take months to work through alone with a therapist or on the discussion board.

If you can go then go, there should be no question. Knowing you are not alone is one thing, meeting the people, you chat and post with is a whole other story. You will find not only are you not alone, but you have friends that won't be uncomfortable with CSA conversation.
