Oh The Humanity!!
A few years ago, I learned that a little guy (son of friends) was molested by his grandfather over the course of a few years. We'll call the boy "Nick."
Nick watched a TV show about "telling" and abuse in general. He was a bit surprised to learn/realize that what he and gramps had going on was abuse. So he went to his mother and told her that "what those people are talking about in this show - gramps and I fill those descriptions."
Mom immediately called her father (gramps) who lives several sates away. He confessed/admitted the offense. She called his local police and had him arrested. He faced a court here in our state and confessed to every possible CSA crime so as to avoid Nick ever having to divulge or testify. He got 7-years in the SA unit of our state prison.
Nick's dad's reaction to the news of all this was rather rough..."tumultuous/violent" you might say. Dad was always an odd guy. Viciously driven to succeed in business and always in turmoil. Suddenly, out of the blue, he realized that HIS mother molested HIM when HE was a kid.
These are people who use to consider themselves exempt from "all that shit Still deals with." I know it, because they've told me so years ago.
But I really care about this family, as we were all very close years ago (before my divorce). Hearing last night that Nick's Dad is a CSA survivor...hit me like a brick. Been falling apart all day, here and there.
What's with humanity? I can't believe this stuff Still rattles me. I deal (at various levels and modes) with SO many cases of CSA and perps. Why does one more rattle me so? Its like I've never heard this stuff before!
I'm freakin crying again as i type.
