No justice on a Bank Holiday!
The final response from the attorney general's office (lack of capitals indicates my total lack of respect for the judiciary).

Thank you for your letter addressed to the attorney general, lord goldsmith, which was received on 18 April 2006.
Firstly, may I say how genuinely sorry I am to hear of the distressing circumstances that led you to contact this office. Only a person who has experienced such trauma can ever really know it's impact, and I wish you well on your healing journey.
As mr fowler was sentenced on 17 March 06, the attorney general would have had 28 days from that date to consider a referral to the court of appeal. This strict time limit takes no account of Bank Holidays, and so the deadline here was Friday 14 April 2006. This meant that the referral would have had to have been made by the morning of Thursday 13 April, as this was Maundy Thursday. We received your letter after this date, and therefore it has not been possible for the attorney general to consider referring mr fowler's sentence to the court of appeal.
I am very sorry to be the bearer of such news, and I appreciate how disappointing this will be for you.

So because of a bank holiday weekend (easter), I loose out! Justice????
I have done absolutely everything by the book! It is because I followed the proper channels of complaint (with slow responses), that my letter to the attorney general was not posted sooner!
In business, a cheque or letter is valid on date of posting! I worked the bank holiday, as I shall be again this coming Monday! Justice takes a day off, I can't!
I suggest that anyone else who takes such a case to court, stands up and shows contempt if inaccuracies are given in the summing up! You may get a day in jail (that would look fantastic in the media....victim/survivor given 1 days jail, paedophile convicted but walks free).
I have bever understood vigilante type activities, but if I had been stood next to fowler when I opened this letter, I would not have been responsible for my actions.
I hope I don't see the ******* this weekend, because I cannot state what may happen! I am a none violent person, that supported the law of this land.
I have no complaint against the author of the above letter, I think they attempted to make the best of a bad situation!
The law has let me down!
Best wishes ....Rik
