No justice on a Bank Holiday!

The final response from the attorney general's office (lack of capitals indicates my total lack of respect for the judiciary).
________________________________________________

Thank you for your letter addressed to the attorney general, lord goldsmith, which was received on 18 April 2006.

Firstly, may I say how genuinely sorry I am to hear of the distressing circumstances that led you to contact this office. Only a person who has experienced such trauma can ever really know it's impact, and I wish you well on your healing journey.

As mr fowler was sentenced on 17 March 06, the attorney general would have had 28 days from that date to consider a referral to the court of appeal. This strict time limit takes no account of Bank Holidays, and so the deadline here was Friday 14 April 2006. This meant that the referral would have had to have been made by the morning of Thursday 13 April, as this was Maundy Thursday. We received your letter after this date, and therefore it has not been possible for the attorney general to consider referring mr fowler's sentence to the court of appeal.

I am very sorry to be the bearer of such news, and I appreciate how disappointing this will be for you.

So because of a bank holiday weekend (easter), I loose out! Justice????

I have done absolutely everything by the book! It is because I followed the proper channels of complaint (with slow responses), that my letter to the attorney general was not posted sooner!

In business, a cheque or letter is valid on date of posting! I worked the bank holiday, as I shall be again this coming Monday! Justice takes a day off, I can't!

I suggest that anyone else who takes such a case to court, stands up and shows contempt if inaccuracies are given in the summing up! You may get a day in jail (that would look fantastic in the media....victim/survivor given 1 days jail, paedophile convicted but walks free).

I have bever understood vigilante type activities, but if I had been stood next to fowler when I opened this letter, I would not have been responsible for my actions.

I hope I don't see the ******* this weekend, because I cannot state what may happen! I am a none violent person, that supported the law of this land.

I have no complaint against the author of the above letter, I think they attempted to make the best of a bad situation!

The law has let me down!

Best wishes ....Rik

Note - my letter would have made it on time, had it not been 'Good Friday'

Rick

Thats fu*king outrageous, (hangs and shakes head in disbelief)

This is definately one for the media especially with the Home Office being in the news (and will be for a few days yet) If you need some direct phone numbers drop me a PM.

Also drop a copy to your local MP and remind him about my campaign.

Rik,

timelines are very strict, I wish you had emailed them instead.
I cannot believe the perp has not been hounded out of the area.

Nor, that vigilantes have not came looking for him.

He will be getting hounded by the cops, they will be on his case for years, and if he is seen with kids, then he will be again arrested.

Even if you saved one boy, it was well worth the effort,

ste

Thanks everyone - what I've got to take away from this is the reality that I have exposed a perp.

He has been convicted, although the sentence is rubbish! As Ste previously said. 'I have taken his toys awaway'!

I can only hope now, that others come forward that were abused after 1977 (I wish there was no one, but we all know there is).

Witness number 2 has told me that there are at least five others that he knows by name, although I am not sure of the time frame of abuse. I equally know that there were others before me. 1 specific individual that I am aware of is at least 10 years older than me. so that means the total time frame of abuse was minimum 1959 to 1977 (when the perp was aged between 22 and 40 years old).

If others do come forward, and there are additional convictions, I will be sending further letters to those that couldn't really be bothered to take my case further. I will not really get any pleasure from saying 'I told you so', but I will certainly say it!

Kirk - I am interested in your contacts, prefer e-mail addresses if you have them for the media. Sometimes I think if you send a mail to the letters page of the nationals, they are just read by some jobsworth that doesn't really register the content, and they are therefore discarded.

I have also reqalised that I am going to confront the perp directly when the opporunity arises. I have some questions to ask him, and I want to see him squirm when I confront him! I know the opportunity will arise, as we both use one of the local shops!

I have done everything by the book, and I see nothing illegal in asking him some direct questions! I have the power now! When it happens, I will let you know! Don't hold your breath for this action, as Saturday morning is the most likely time for that to happen - it's now Saturday afternoon here!

Best wishes ...Rik

Rik,

I get my abusive brother around every saturday morning, sunday too, a bit later tho.
Ive made a decision to kick him out of my life for good.

Now he is the odd one out in the family, he caused me to feel that way.

I dont know how you can breathe the same air as this discreet old gentleman.
He wont be so discreet now the cops are on his case.

Ever got a good feeling just thinking how much he is cursing you, for breaking his cover. That is worth a drink.

He will constantly walk with his perp sign on his back, so now he gets to know a little bit about what is ahead of him, but dont ever think he will think his actions wrong.

Do not talk to him, looking at him will be enough to let him know you are still after him, so just let him suffer in silence, like we all did,

ste

Since I posted earlier today, I have spoken to witness number 2! He is going to speak to the others that he knows were abused by fowler.

If he can get any of them to come forward, at least fowler will be arrested again. Whether or not this leads to further prosecution remains to be seen!

If any of them were abused post 1977, then further prosecution is more likely!

Witness no. 2 also told me that someone threw paint over fowlers door the other day!

Ste - I understand your point of view when you suggest that I don't talk to him! I understand from various training courses that I have attended over the years, that conversations can be, e.g. parent to child, child to child, adult to adult and so on (the role taken does not mean that someone is of the expected age indicated by that role).

When I met fowler, he was the adult, and I was the child that took notice of everything that he said. In my next coversation with him, I expect that the roles will be reversed! I will be the adult with the power!

When he appeared in crown court, my friends commented on what a whiney voice he had. I will hear that whiney voice squirming live - I will not allow him to make excuses for what he did! Confronting him will give me the closure that the judiciary did not! I will then know that I have the power, and that he is insignificant! He will be in no doubt that I am still gunning for him, but I will not elaborate to him how!

I have a way with words when I need to!

If we attract an audience, so be it!

Best wishes ...Rik

Rik,

Can I offer two brief comments?

One is that if you lay low and don't confront Fowler, he will be in even more of a quandry as to what you have in mind to do next. If you just get in his face that makes you look like a troublemaker.

You're still carrying around a lot of unresolved anger and I understand that. But if that bursts out of control in a confrontation with Fowler it could land you in big trouble.

I do understand your feelings on this case and I would not for a second deny you your right to act or say how you feel. I just offer a few thoughts with your own safety and the effective pursuit of your cause in mind.

Much love,
Larry
