Night light
Early to bed, Nightlight shining
Mommy is sleeping, Dad is home now.
In my bed crying, I feel alone
I am always getting beaten, living in hell
I am just a misfit, I just dont belong
The sound of the boots on that hardwood floor
I hear them approaching to the bedroom door.
Tongue against my chest, you can imagine the rest.
Touching, feeling, my eyes rolling to the ceiling
Crying, weeping, always happened when they're sleeping
Drinking here, smoking there, my life is hard to share
I tried to share my story to those I trust,
I am not dead, just hanging by a thread.
The years passed on by, still living my past as a lie.
I did survive this life, Scars still there
I am beginning to share my voice, it's up to me to make that choice
