I always remember some proverb; about the calm before the storm. It's when the birds and other wildlife just go quiet, because they somehow know that nature is going to throw some unwarranted inclement weather upon them!

It's the same as when my dog (he really was my dog - my brother and sister knew it too. I wore his name tag in court, even though he died when I was 19...now 48) used to get really excited when one of the humans he knew was approaching our front door - he always knew they were approaching well before they got there. He always went a bit crazy when they opened the door and walked in. Then he just used to lay down & go quiet., occasionally looking around to see that everything was OK. He just knew that it was!

My new proverb - hope it makes sense:

In life: It's not the calm before the storm; when everything is silent! It's the calm after the storm, when the detritus slowly drifts away!

Best wishes, and enjoy life ...Rik!

I was just about to close my post there until I received a text on my mobile from a good friend:

You never see into the eyes of those with courage until they come calling!

I'm about to ask if he made that one up!?

Best wishes ...Rik

*Forgive my typos on recent posts!

I like 'em both.

Rik,

he did not make it up, but he may have found it here.

"You never see into the eyes of those with courage until they come calling"!

Hmmm, does it not have a double meaning!
I guess he meant that the perp did not ever think that he would get caught when he did these inhuman acts on lil boys, he got clean away with it.

Those who had the courage came calling and baying at his door to make his ass squeak like f*ck!

I dont know the origin of these few words but they can mean so much.

Funnily before I read this, I posted this from the Guardian which struck a chord with me, is it de ja vous?

I guess it is just like your dog, we have gained or rather found extra senses in our lives, the very tools to survive in a barren World. Poetry.

Rik,

I liked them as well. Especially the second, on courage. I had not seen that one before. Thanks for sharing them.

Much love,
Larry
