I think it's a great improvement.
Thank you.

It is a very good definition. Thorough, well worded and not overly emotional.

One thing I might add as an aside is that age of consent varies from state to state. In Arkansas the age of consent is 16. Most other states I am aware of are 17 or 18 years. And I would honestly go with 17 or 18 being the better limit in most cases. Even at that point it is debateable if sufficient maturity is present.

A futher aside is marriage age limits. Most states are limited to about 16. But I am aware of some states where the legal age for marriage is in the low teens with parental consent(mostly in new england, where I imagine they are simply old laws still on the books). In california there is no lower age limit at least when I looked up all this stuff up ~10 years ago. In such cases it would theoretically be possible to be married and still engage in a sex crime.

I was looking around to see the age of consent in different states and I found this about Canada.

"it is not a defence that the complainant consented to the activity that forms the subject-matter of the charge unless the accused
(a) is twelve years of age or more but under the age of sixteen years;
(b) is less than two years older than the complainant; and
(c) is neither in a position of trust or authority towards the complainant nor is a person with whom the complainant is in a relationship of dependency.

Exemption for accused aged twelve or thirteen
No person aged twelve or thirteen years shall be tried for an offence under section 151 or 152 or subsection 173(2) unless the person is in a position of trust or authority towards the complainant or is a person with whom the complainant is in a relationship of dependency."

in a position of trust of authority, I don't believe that is part of any US laws. I think its a good thing.

As for the age of consent in the US, according to ageofconsent.com

Well in Arkansas law those in positions of authority, IE teachers and such cannot according to law have sex with those under their care even when they are over the age of consent(ie 17 and 18 year olds)
