My therapist was right, again ($%#$%#^$%^)
Went to see my therapist today, prepared to debate what he had been telling me last week about "worth". Last week we had discussed a person's abilities and talents and how those define a person's worth. He asked me to think on it this week, and I did. I had my rebuttal all planned: "What about prostitutes? They have "abilities", but should we define their worth by those abilities?" Hence, the reason behind my reasoning that whatever achievements I have made in life are useless.
He quickly pointed out the error of my thinking (DAMN!). What helps define our worth is how we use our abilities and achievements in life IN SPITE OF the adversities we've faced. For all of us here who have faced tremendous adversity by being crapped on in the most horrible of ways, our accomplishments and achievements show that we have developed a keen sense of how to survive. That, my friends, is "worthy".
(That man (my T) is smart....he's finally starting to get through this thick skull of mine, ever so slowly.)
