My parents got a call from the DA's office last night. My perp was arrested when the police served a search warrant on his home.

Unfortuneatly, the hardest part still awaits. The DA didn't interview that many people to confirm my story becasue they didn't want my perp to skip town. Now there going to talk to the scout leaders from my old troop to get additional witnesses to verify parts of my story. I'm so thankfull I'm in a new scout troop now because I don't want my past to be the topic of gossip. I still fear that the homophobic teens in my town could somehow find out.

I hope the policee find the child porn my perp made of me. If they do maybe he will just plead guilty. If not I'm scared of testfying.

Bill, I am glad they got him, he probably had contacts on the internet and was distributing images, he also may have kept images of you.

Even if they do interview your old scout group, they will never mention anything about your accusations, it will be to find further evidence to prosecute him.

It is extremely hard to envisage how much hurt you can go through in giving evidence like this.
I hope he admits to it in view of serving a lighter sentence.

Nobody should have to go and give evidence at a trial of this sort, it is not helpful for any respondent, especially if they are found not guilty or receive a light sentence.

How often do we see a court just slapping the wrists of an offender who has hurt kids!

If you do have to face him in a court, we will all be with you to try and help you through, but hopefully they got enough evidence on him, to lock him up, because they dont do that for nothing.

They only do it if they think he is still offending,

dude you just described what happened with my perp about a month or so ago . they did find the child porn that he made of me and he did plead guilty ,when faced with the evidence its better for them to plead ,good luck and good job adam

I read your post with mixed emotions. I was pleased that your reports were taken seriously and action has been taken. I was also struck by the thought that it's too bad you have to go through this at all. Sorta brought tears to my eyes. You're a brave guy tho, and I know you'll be OK in the end. You have all of us here supporting you and cheering you on.

That's such great news. Just for him to be arrested is already a victory for you, regardless of what happens in the future.

I know this is difficult for you to do, but try not to focus so much on fears of what others will come to know about you. I think in all states these days there is a lot of emphasis on protecting the kid who discloses what was done to him. Your name will not be in the newspapers, for example, and no one will go to your former troop and say "Bill Pike was abused by ****; anybody else?" It will all be kept confidential.

Be strong and hang in there my friend. I wish you all the best and if you ever need to talk know that I am hear for you along with everyone on this site. I hope this wont be a long process you have to indure as far as court proceedings go. Always remember you are not alone.
