Missing boy found in my home town

This is more a "not another victim" victim post. In my home town we had heard on the news about a young boy of 14 that's been missing since 3 weeks ago.
He called his dad on his cell phone the night he disappeared but that call was mysteriously ended abruptly. All the boy could get out was that he wanted to come home. Strange message the police and father thought as the initial belief was that he had just run away.
Well, of course 3 weeks later and everybody feared they'd never see him again. I was surprised to hear this morning that he had been found. I'd concluded that he had run away and would perhaps never make contact again, or my other thought was that he had perhaps been killed and the body may or may not ever be found.
On hearing the news I think I was half relieved that he had been found alive and half not. That might sound harsh or strange but the report was that he had been tied up in a room for 3 weeks by two men, within a few miles of his home. The police burst in with guns and rescued the boy. Doctors also attended the scene.
Like me, as you are reading this your mind is probably thinking what I thought. Oh my goodness, I'm afraid he may have been abused by these men and now what kind of stuff is he going to have to deal with growing up and for the rest of his life?
My wife commented on the [good?] news and said she couldn't imagine what might have happened to him during that time. I COULD.
My prayers have gone out to this young boy today and I feel like jumping right in there and tying to help but I'm sure it's all too early and plus he'll probably subconsciously suppress this stuff for years anyway.
