Some reflections:
The recent Male Survivor Conference provided a safe place for men (and a few women) to gather for healing fellowship. Daily workshops and seminars provided a rich assortment of soothing, challenging, and incisive opportunities for growth. I participated in groups addressing sexual identity, covert maternal emotional incest, movement therapy, clergy abuse, and intimacy. All of the "heavy" work was balanced by mealtime laughter and supportive, brotherly, conversations during breaks and in between events. Each day was hemmed by an opening, grounding, ceremony and closed by an evening activity. Everyone was so invested in the conference that it virtually ensured a personal breakthrough. The leadership is strong, competent, grounded, open, and committed. Please join Male Survivor and be a part of a community of men dedicated to healing each other and themselves, and to rescuing generations of men still suffering in silence.
If this sounds like a commercial, it sort of is. More importantly, it's a statement of confidence from an otherwise cautious guy.
A Companion,
JamesMichael
