Memory During Regression

If one was sexually abused as a child and has an episode of regression, is it normal for them to completely forget about the episode of regression after it has passed? If so, and one has forgotten the episode, does it make sense for them to make a reference to something said to them while they were in the regressed state, after the state has passed? Please help. Thank you.

WanderingStar,

A trained professional should answer this for you. All I can say is that memories of traumatic events are stored in the brain differently and are recalled differently. I think what you are talking about would be quite possible. These things go in and come out in fragments so often, and a piece of a suppressed memory can easily float to the surface and get us thinking about what the rest of the picture must be like.

Much love,
Larry
