i joined on friday, and i was wondering how long it usually takes for it to show up on your profile? kind of interested in checking out the member boards and such.

Welcome aboard! It shouldn't take more than a day or two before you are recognized as a member. Since it was Friday, it will probably be today or tomorrow before you have the "official" title. Contact Fred Tolson if it's longer than that; he's in charge of those designators.
