Ok, I have got to say that the media has no interest in CSA, unless it is news grabbing.

I thought OK, I am going to send them an article and ask for it to be printed.
I am going to say look over it, consult me if you need to change it, but please put it to print.

If you choose not to print, then I want to know the full reasons for not doing so?
I am going to do it with assets from postings in this place, but no names involved.

I am just so sick of kids not getting justice, nor the adults who evolve from abuse.
I just get so sick of the way media treats abuse with a jackboot instead of seeing what really goes on.

My memories will live on another day, one way or the other, and just wish I had my own way of telling it, but that may not be far away, as I will build a website to get to the top of Google, and the little guy knows exactly how to do just that.

Ste? What do mean by the media treating CSA with a jackboot? Like, it's not newsworthy unless the kids are describing satan-worshiping cults that forced them into ritualistic sacrifice etc?

I've been reading some of the archives in the news section, and I remember some not so current memebers here complaining about Oprah featuring a show about CSA, but only about girls, not a single boy was mentioned.

Sometimes, it seems like it goes on so often that it's just not news anyomore unless someone is killed or unless it's an abduction cought on a surveillence tape and shown for 10 seconds on the Maury Povich Show.

Maybe they discovered that the audience gets triggered and change the channel when CSA is featured as a news story. Hell, I don't know, I'm just venturing some guesses.

I currently live in a small community, about 30,000 people live in my County. And around once per month, a local is busted for CSA, his picture is posted with the arrignment, and he posts bond, and he goes to trial, and almost without exception, they all get years in prison. (4 to 7 years seems rather typical). And that's what happens. No sensationalism or feature stories, just plain police blotter news and it's gone the next day. I've noticed that, years later, the same familiar names come back to the same community and are on the sex offender list.

I think CSA crimes get pretty heavy coverage...we had a story a couple weeks ago about a guy who abducted 2 boys and it was the lead national story for days.

(they caught him, btw)

You never think things like that would happen close to you, but the truth is it could happen anywhere. There was a boy that was kidnapped here where I live last month and he was found in the next town in an abandoned house. The kidnapper was caught, but not before he killed the boy who was 5 y.o. The newspaper did a frong page story on the kidnapping and the funeral. He did really terrible things and I hope he fries for it.
