Hey Guys,

I've been away for abit, very busy. But you've all been in my thoughts alot lately. I started one on one therapy today. I think it is the right time for me now. Felt good afterwards. :)

Just wanted to let you all know that there will be an article about Male survivours of sexual abuse this Sat in "The London Free Press". You can check it out on their web site www.londonfreepress.com. Three of us from my group therapy and the facilitator were all interviewed extensively. London Ontario is a city of about 300 000 or so,(maybe more), so it should get pretty good coverage. I'm really excited to see how the public reacts when it comes out. I think all too often the general public turns a blind eye to things as serious as SA. The point of the article is to bring it out, for all to see. I'm very proud to be involved with this.

Good timing. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month in the US (not an official, take off from work holiday). Lots of newspapers and tv shows will do a piece on child abuse.

Take advantage of this by contacting a reporter from the local paper or tv/radio station who you think does decent coverage of social problems. If you are up to being identified as a survivor with a story to tell, let that reporter know that you are willing to speak out against child sexual abuse. Even if you are not able or willing to "come out", you can usually work something out to remain anonymous or be filmed in shadow.

GREAT!!! The more press, the better. Lets get all of this out in the public so there is no choice exccept for it to be seen. That's one of the best ways that we are going to be able to help to stop it from happening to others.

that's a terrific article, and the stories add to the power of it.

All newspapers should do similar articles, but they won't unless we get off our butts and make them do it.

A great article that advocates so powerfully for programs for men. It is good the way he shows that the governemnt is already spending big bucks on the problem--through other services. Attacking the problems head on makes much better fiscal sense.

Thanks for your part in that Shawn. You clearly had an impact on the reporter.
