At least 1 in 6 men have been sexually abused or assaulted in their lifetime.

1 in 13 boys experience sexual abuse in childhood.

Heartly House wants to help eliminate the shame and stigma that can surround these issues, and so we are inviting you to join us as we present our third annual CAPES event!

Community Awareness Promoting Empowerment for male Survivors of childhood sexual abuse, CAPES is a Heartly House initiative aimed at providing support and empowerment.

This virtual event is an expansion of our previous program that will include breakout sessions and a survivor-led panel where you'll hear from survivors, secondary survivors, and a therapist who specializes in trauma.

We want to create more spaces where male survivors feel safe to come forward and receive support in healing, and we know that a first step towards that goal is to normalize talking about difficult topics.

Did you know?
  • On average, 90% of boys will not report their abuse
  • Of those who do, it takes them over 20 years before they disclose
  • 50% will consider suicide, and 20% will attempt it

Let's talk about it. CLICK HERE
Will you join us in this critical conversation?
Who's invited?
Mental health professionals, community advocates, health care providers, male survivors of childhood sexual abuse, secondary survivors (those who support survivors), and anyone interested in learning more!

CE credits have been applied for through NASW.
